The Unarmed Self Defense Training course is based on the fact that innocent people are violently attacked every day. These attacks often occur to individuals who least expect it and without warning. That’s why; in today’s ever changing hostile environment it’s more important than ever before to be prepared for any situation.

Taught by Investigator Scott Usry of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, who brings over 30 years of martial arts experience and over 18 years of law enforcement and SWAT Team training to the classroom in this dynamic and fast paced training event.

By learning the basics of self-defense you help prepare yourself for dangerous and unforeseen circumstances.

During this workshop you will learn:

  • Situational awareness.
  • Vital parts of the body that are vulnerable and easy to attack.
  • Basic strikes and kicks.
  • Defense for the most common attacks.
  • Plus a whole lot more.

Description

The Unarmed Self Defense class duration is 4 hours from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

All courses are delivered at GTI’s Joint Operations Center 1321 Technology Drive, Barnwell, SC 29812.

All students should wear Comfortable Pants (I.E. Gym Clothing) and Comfortable Footwear.

Women’s Unarmed Defense
The Women's Unarmed Defense training session will focus on unarmed self-defense tactics that are proven to be effective in the real-world by individuals who are responsible for teaching the techniques to professionals who encounter violence daily. Our techniques focus on skeletal manipulation, attacking anatomically defenseless points on the body, and pressure and nerve motor points. Because the system is based off of gross motor movements the blocks and strikes are simple and powerful. As the member’s skills progress, they will be provided training against multiple attackers and defense against edged weapons and firearms from those who have experienced these threats in the real-world.
